Introduction: How It All Began
Okay, so here’s the deal. It sounded fun and frightening to organize the trip to Italy with 12 adults and 2 kids.
A picture of all the bookings, transport, guides, hotels – it was like a bomb in waiting.
I discovered our company then, Segvtours.com. Their atmosphere was just good, their reviews seemed strong, and I simply felt like it.

Rome: Walking Through History
The second we landed in Rome, the Eternal City, we could easily feel that we were in a book that dealt with the history.
Our guide led us to the Colosseum and all of a sudden the battle of the gladiators was not irrelevant reading book content but rather living. Even the kids were hooked.
We rolled dice at the Trevi Fountain, wished, and took approximately 100 photos. We were taken on a guided sightseeing tour and therefore knew everything as opposed to merely touring spots.
Rome set the tone. It was not mere sightseeing but it was like being a part of a story.
Tuscany & Cinque Terre: Heart of Italy
We entered Rome, and then Tuscany, and man, this place is pure.
We struck Pisa at the Leaning Tower, passed on through Siena and San Gimignano, and more or less dipped into that Italian culture of the country.
Highlight? Long Tuscan country lunch. Think about vineyards, hills, red wine and real Italian pasta. A feeling, as though one lived within a picture.
And then came Cinque Terre. What pastel-colored seaport towns? Unreal. As we stood out in the sea wind and at the back of us lay those candy-colored houses, it was like being on the face of a post-card.
Venice: Floating Romance
Next up, Venice. It was a whole new level; I had seen pictures.
We sailed along the Grand Canal, drove through small bridges and arrived at St. Mark’s Square. The children were insane with the boats, and the adults did the romance and dreaming.
Venice had no particular hurry. SegvTours provided us with the right combination of touring and free roaming. All told abstraction, it is a city that one must just go through at a slow pace to gain an experience of it.
Milan & Lake Como: The Perfect Finale
And, last, another big industrial city Milan, fashionable and elegant.
We visited jaw-dropping Duomo di Milano and just to have a bit more, we used the day to visit Lake Como. Best decision ever. It is such a dreamy spot, the lake, the mountains, the little cities, all of it.
During our days walking around and exploring Milan, we also had time to shop, relax and sample the chic of contemporary Italian ambience. It was the ideal finale concert.

My Honest Impression
Look, I’ll be straight. This is not the first international tour that I have done.
Things were great with each and every member of my group, including my parents and the children. None, none, not a spot of stress. Just pure fun and discovery.
This 9-day trip to Italy was surely one of the best travelling experiences of my life.
